France Guidebook: The Ultimate Road Trip France Guidebook

Here's Your Practical, No-fuss Road Trip Guidebook to France...

France is the road trip capital of Europe, and honestly there is so much to explore. It’s absolutely HUGE! Robbie Roams himself spent several weeks driving his way through France’s dreamy coastlines, storybook villages, incredible mountains, and endless vineyards in his trusty campervan. Now, after exploring the very best this beautiful country has to offer, he’s turned all that knowledge into our brand-new Road Trip France Guidebook.

We know many of you already have our UK and Ireland road trip guides proudly tucked in your glovebox or packed in your camper. But we also know you’re always looking to embark on new adventures. That’s exactly why we’ve created Road Trip France!  Whilst a road trip across the channel might feel a little less achievable at first, we promise it’s doable. Our guidebook will give you all the inspiration, tools (and the little nudge) you need to get going!

From the picture-perfect villages of the Dordogne to the glamorous coastline of the Côte d’Azur, and the mountain roads of the Alps. France certainly has a lot to offer when it comes to road trips.  So, here’s why you need to consider this France guidebook when planning your next road trip there…

1. It outlines all the requirements and things you need to make sure you have when travelling around Europe

There’s a few things you’ll need to consider and sort before embarking on your road trip to France. It’s not as easy as just packing up your camper and setting off like when exploring the UK. From driving permits and safety gear, to toll road tips and insurance must-knows, we’ve broken it all down. This France guidebook covers all the important info, so you don’t get caught out.

2. Features detailed maps and flexible itineraries

At the start of each section, you’ll find easy-to-follow itineraries ranging from a few days to five-day road trips. Each one is designed to be flexible, so you can mix them up or bolt on extra sections to extend your road trip.

3. It’s packed with must-see locations (and how to find them easily)

This is our biggest book to date, and that’s because it’s full of must-see locations throughout France. Each location includes QR codes and What3Words so you can find them easily. For those of you already familiar with our other guides, you’ll also spot something new: we’ve added ‘mini points of interest’ throughout. These are smaller, lesser-known spots and handy little detours to help you squeeze even more out of your journey.

4. Plan where to eat and stay with ease

For each of the regions covered within our France guidebook, you’ll find handy places to eat, drink and stay. You’ll find well-equipped campsites with great facilities, plus handy low-cost aires for those travelling in motorhomes. There’s also scenic wild park-ups for off-grid nights, as well as cosy hotels and guesthouses if you’re after a bit more comfort.

5. You’ll find practical tips, hacks and real travel advice

We’ve included everything we wish we knew before our first European road trip. From avoiding silly mistakes (like not having the right documents at the border) to knowing a few useful French phrases that’ll make day-to-day things a bit easier. This guide is packed with advice from real experience on the road. You’ll also find helpful tips on navigating toll roads, using aires properly, or how to avoid common driving fines.
